What this is

The Thoughtless Gift is a free gift-recommendation site. You describe who you're shopping for and your budget; our AI reads the brief and returns six specific gift ideas — real products, real prices, linked straight to the retailer. We don't sell anything, ship anything, or handle returns. We do the thinking; the store does the commerce. Our tagline is “Artificial Thoughtfulness — finally, it's not the thought that counts,” and we'd like to be clear that this is a joke we take extremely seriously.

Who runs it

The Thoughtless Gift is operated by NSD Thoughtless LLC, a small company based in Denver, Colorado. It is a deliberately tiny operation: a couple of humans, one diligent AI, and a product catalog we maintain by hand. The Gift Guide is written and edited in-house.

How we pay the bills

The site is free and we intend to keep it that way. Some of the retailer links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, the store pays us a small commission. Your price never changes. Commission never decides what we recommend — we wrote down exactly how the sausage gets made on our How We Pick page, including the part where the AI literally cannot see commission data. There's also a tip jar, if the robot saved you from another scented candle.
